Esta trilogía está basada en la idea de crear una ONG para ensenar español a los niños del área del Delta del Mississippi. En el cuento 1, Viviendo un sueño, el autor nos cuenta que en realidad él no quiere ser contable, sino que quiere fundar una ONG para ayudar a los niños a aprender español. En el cuento 2, Mi primer día como maestra, la autora nos cuenta su primer día como maestra de español en la ONG. Y en el cuento 3, La niña, la autora nos muestra la utilidad de la ONG para aprender español.
